A rooftop gargoyle in cloak and hood, clutching a newly acquired ring, peers down on the lantern-lit street below, witnessing a crime and torn between action and apathy. A dwarf, with skin resembling stone, sits on the back end of a caravan rumbling through the Night Market, vigilant for thieves, resolved to fulfill her purpose. An elven ancestor, no longer a stationary reminder of the past, plays a lute under an elm in the city park, inspired by a second brief dance with the material plane.

Watchers are statues crafted of stone in the form of gargoyles, sentinels, or legends of the past, that are given life through magic, either Arcane or Divine. Sparked to life as a blend of stone and organic materials, watchers are living humanoids with a stony appearance.  

Many watchers spark to life with thoughts, memories, and skills associated with the artist that created them, or the person or creature they were carved to represent. For example, one watcher might have the Scribe background if they were originally carved by a famous thinker, while another could have the Sailor background if they were carved in the likeness of a famous sea captain.

Skullduggery will now include this additional Species.

From a rooftop, Dirra marks the prey she’s been tracking all day, noting vulnerable areas in their armor. She has no doubt a well-aimed crossbow bolt will drop her target, but they’re no good to her dead, so she prepares her Spare the Dying cantrip, just before pulling the trigger…

Hunt Wanted Criminals and Threats

Bounty Hunters are Rangers who use their skills to neutralize or eliminate threats to local communities, typically for gold. Although many bounty hunters can be ruthless or heartless, adventurers tend to represent reformed bounty hunters, or bounty hunters who use their skills to both make money and to hunt real threats to good folk.

Skullduggery will now include this additional Subclass. Criminals beware…
